I’m currently taking time off from research to work on my Census Mod for TNG. The Williams Family Tree website is powered by TNG (The Next Generation of Genealogy Software) but it has no provision for displaying census information. It does, however, have the facility to include ‘Mods’ to tailor the software to individual needs.
There will be a new version of TNG available in February and I hope to have my software up and running by then. The problem is, like any software development, you get the ‘now that I’ve done that, I can do this’ syndrome!
The screenshot shows the Admin Search Census Template page as the new Mod is based on templates. The current software that I am using has the information tables ‘hard-wired’ and so it is not very flexible and only of use for the UK census records. With the new Mod installed the user will be able to create templates for any census, for any country or region.
Wish me luck!
