- From the 1881 Census (RG11 Piece 5225 Folio 89 Page 19) James Harris, 25, Farm Labourer from Newland, Gloucestershire, was with his parents-in-law James, 70, Farmer from Mansell Lacey, Herefordshire, and Mary, 56, Farmer's Wife from Withington, Herefordshire, at Joyford Farm, Newland, Gloucestershire, England. With him were his uncle-in-law William, 75, Farmer from Mansell Lacey, Herefordshire, and wife Ann, 23, from Goodrich, Herefordshire.
From the 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 4338 Folio 67 Page 1 - wrong image on Ancestry so I can't give exact details!) James, 35, was with his wife Ann, 32, in Newland, Gloucestershire. With them were their children Annie, 9, Walter, 6, Ethel, 5, Ellen, 3, Lilian, 2, and Arthur J, 7 months.
