      From the 1851 Census (HO107 Piece 1808 Folio 86 Page 4) John, 15, was with his father William Davey, 52, Unmarried (actually a widower) at River Side, Ludham, Tunstead and Happing, Norfolk, England. With him were his siblings Mary Ann, 21, Jacob, 18, Allice, 16, Isaac, 13 and Susanna, 8. Also with him were a visitor (niece) Pheba Nichols, 4 and nephew, Ashby (Ashley), 3.

      From the 1861 Census (RG9 Piece 1197 Folio 88 Page 13) John, 24, a Bricklayer, was with his father, William H(argraves), 63, also a Bricklayer, at House Hill House, Ludham, Norfolk, England. With him were his wife Frances, 28, from Witton and son David, 8 months.

      John and Francis (Story) Davey on 24th Feb 1869 on "The City of Antwerp". With them were their children, David, Francis, Rebecca, Andrew and the senior member of the family, William Hargraves Davey. They came in through New York but migrated to Michigan (Film 306, list number 139).

      Listed on the 1880 US Census for Michigan, same page as brother Isaac. John with wife Frances, children David, Rebecca, and a boarder. Listed as a brick mason. Son David listed as a box maker.
