- From the 1841 Census (HO107 Piece 766/3 Folio 7 Page 9) Alfred, 20, Agricultural Labourer, was with his parents Mathew, 50, Agricultural Labourer, and Susannah, 30, at Marsh Road, Burgh, Norfolk, England. With him were his brothers George, 13, William, 7, and James, 6. Also present was Susannah Atkins, 12, F(emale) S(ervant).

From the 1851 Census (HO107 Piece 1813 Folio 209 Page 16) there was an Alfred Shreeve, married, 29, Malster, lodging with William Barber, 55, Bricklayer, and his wife Mary, 59, at Palace Plain, Norwich, Norfolk, England. The household had a 16 year old servant by the name of William Salver and there were three other lodgers present: James Newson, 47, Malster, John Knopwood, 29, Carpenter and his wife Fanney Knopwood, 39.
A Maltster or Malster is a Brewer, he made or sold malts.
Alfred and Elizabeth were listed in the 1855 New York, State census, Orleans County, Ridgeway.
