      From the 1851 Census (HO 107 Piece 2495 Folio 225 Page 12) Mary Owen, 77, widow, Housekeeper and Dress Maker was with her brother Roger, 77, a widower and Postmaster, at the Post Office in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. They were both born in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. Also in the household was Ann Pugh, a 27 year old House Servant from Towyn, Merionethshire, Wales.

      From the 1861 Census (RG9 Piece 4249 Folio 50 Page 3) Mary, a widow of 88, was with her son Griffith Owen, 58, a Ship's Pilot and his wife Susannah, 55, at (Dovey) Ter(race), Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. Also with her was her grandson, Griffith, 27, a Ship Builder. They also had a House Servant, Catherine Jenkins, 20, from Llancynfelin, Cardigan who later married Griffith Owen junior.
