- From the 1841 Census (HO107 Piece 766/3 Folio 7 Page 9) William, 7, was with his parents Mathew, 50, Agricultural Labourer, and Susannah, 30, at Marsh Road, Burgh, Norfolk, England. With him were his brothers Alfred, 20, Agricultural Labourer, George, 13, and James, 6. Also present was Susannah Atkins, 12, F(emale) S(ervant).
From the 1851 Census (HO107 Piece 1807 Folio 269 Page 29) William, 17, Agricultural Labourer, was with his parents Mathew, 56, Agricultural Labourer, and Susan, 41, at Sick Lane, Burgh St. Margaret, Norfolk, England. With him were his brothers James, 16, Agricultural Labourer, and Frederic, 9 months.
From the 1861 Census (RG9 Piece 4434 Folio 125 Page 6) William, single, 28, AB Seaman, was aboard the 21 gun HMS Scout moored off Shanghai, China. Of interest to nobody in particular, the Captain's name was John Corbett!
