- From the 1841 Census (HO107 Piece 1305/5 Folio 42 Page 17) Ellen, 30, was with her husband John, 30, Stone Mason, in Millwood, Stansfield, Yorkshire, England. With them were their daughters Sarah, 4, and Mary, 2. Also present was James Heyworth, 12, Apprentice Mason. Everyone was reportedly born in Norfolk.
Helen Lupton emigrated to Australia from Milwood, Yorkshire, England on board the vessel Elizabeth which arrived at Sydney on 20th January 1844 (together with husband John Lupton and children Sarah, Mary Anne and Alice. Helen gave consent to the marriage of Ebenezer Scott and Alice Lord who married on 23 September 1859.
The immigration record indicates that Helen was healthy at the time of boarding the Elizabeth, however she was placed in the hospital. The record also indicated that a male baby died during the passage indicating that Helen was pregnant when she came on board but had a miscarriage. [1]
