- William Hart was born on 17 November 1878 at Govan, Scotland. Living at 118 Henderson Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow in 1901.
Carter in 1901. Labourer in 1916.
He enlisted in the 161st Huron Battalion at Seaforth, Ontario on 1 January
1916, at which time he was married, living at Egmondville, Ontario, and
working as a labourer. He listed his wife Mrs. Jane F. Hart, also of
Egmondville, as next-of-kin.
Corporal W. Hart died on 23 September 1918, after having been wounded
two days earlier, and was buried at Sunken Road Cemetery, Boisleux-St.
Marc, Pas de Calais (Grave Ref. II.F.5).

Peacefully at Huronview Home, Tuckersmith Twp., on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 Mrs. Mary Theresa (MATTHEWS) HART of Seaforth at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late William M. HART for 48 years. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Pauline BARBER of
Kitchener, Helen AUBIN of Egmondville, and Lester LEONHARDT of Seaforth. Also loved by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Sarah Jane (HICKNELL) and Joseph MATTHEWS, sisters Gertrude (Harold) LAVIS, Frances (Joseph) O'REILLY,
Betty LEONHARDT, and brothers Lonnie (Nellie) MATTHEWS, Edmund MATTHEWS, and by brother-in-law Donald BARBER. Mary was a member and past president of the Catholic Women's League for over 60 years, Seaforth Hospital Auxilliary, Seaforth Lawn
Bowling Club, Seaforth Curling Club, and the Seaforth Golf Club. Friends will be received at the Box & Smith Funeral Chapel, 47 High Street, Seaforth on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will be held at St. James Roman
Catholic Church, Seaforth, on Friday, March 5, 2004 at 11 o'clock with Father Lance MAGDZIAK officiating. Parish prayers will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday evening at 8:30. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be
greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
