- From the 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 4587 Folio 46 Page 6) we see that Annie, 5, was born in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales and is living with her parents, John and Mary, at 11 New Street, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. Siblings Elizabeth, John O(wen) and Mary are also present. The family have a 16 year old General Servant by the name of Mary J. Evans from Llanbrynmair, Montgomeryshire and an Apprentice Tailor, 16 year old Henry R(obert) Shortland from London. Henry went on to marry Annie's aunt, Susannah Williams.
From the 1901 Census (RG13 Piece 5190 Folio 32 Page 6) Annie, now 15, and her parents are still at 11 New Street, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. Siblings Elizabeth, John O(wen), Mary, Olwen J(ane), Enid M(argaret), David S(amuel) and Richard B(reese) are also present. Also in the household are 19 year old John E. O. Williams a Servant Tailor from Treddol Cardiganshire and 16 year old Apprentice Tailor James J. Williams also from Treddol, Cardiganshire.
From the 1911 Wales Census for Aberdovey, Merionethshire (RG14PN33713 RG78PN1945 RD615 SD2 ED6 SN114) Annie, 25, Assistant Mistress, was with her parents John, 53, Tailor and Draper from Llanbrynmair, Montgomeryshire, and Mary, 48, from Aberdovey, Merionethshire, at Meirion House, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With her were her siblings Elizabeth, 27, Helping in the trade, Mary, 20, Milliner, David Samuel, 17, Tailor, Enid Margaret, 14, Mother's Help, Richard Breese, 12, Scholar, and Gwennie, 7, Scholar. All the children were recorded as having been born in Aberdovey, Merionethshire.
