With her were her siblings Jane, 20, John, 16, Tinman, Thomas, 14, Scholar, William, 12, Scholar, Ann M., 10, Scholar, Alfred, 9, Scholar, and Caroline, 7, Scholar. All the children were reportedly born in Bilston, Staffordshire.
From the 1871 England Census for Tipton, Staffordshire (RG10 Piece 3000 Folio 69 Page 19) Martha, 24, was with her parents John, 60, Colliery Manager from Enville Staffordshire, and Caroline, 50, from Enfield, Staffordshire, at Moat House, 6 Moat Road, Tipton, Staffordshire, England. With her were her siblings James, 19, Carpenter, Walter, 14, Scholar, Caroline, 26, and Louisa, 16. All the children were recorded as having been born in Tipton, Staffordshire. Also present was servant Mary Emmery, 33, General Servant from Tipton, Staffordshire.
