- From the 1891 England Census (RG12 Piece 3770 Folio 126 Page 18) Clement, 19, Coal Miner from Gawber, Yokshire, was at 57 Waltham Street, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England. He was boarding with George Blakey, 35, Coal Miner from Worsbrodale, Yorkshire, and his wife Hunie, 31, from Barnsley, Yorkshire. Also present was fellow boarder John Ward, 29, General Labourer from Cudworth, Yorkshire.
From the 1881 England Census (RG11 Piece 4605 Folio 172 Page 12) Clement, 9, Scholar born Gawber, West Riding of Yorkshire, was with his father Miles, married, 65, Coal Miner from Old Lindley, West Riding of Yorkshire, in the Barnsley Union Workhouse, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England. With him were his siblings Theodore, 11, Scholar born Barnsley, West Riding of Yorkshire and Pamelia (sic), 12, Scholar born Barnsley, West Riding of Yorkshire. There was also a John Thomas Taylor seemingly with them age 9, Scholar born Barnsley, Yorkshire. Whether he was related or not we do not yet know.
