- From the 1861 Census (RG9 Piece 4250 Folio 43 Page 34) William L., 9, Scholar, was with his parents John, 61, Weaver from Newtown, Montgomeryshire, and Elizabeth, 50, Weaver from Llanidloes, Montgomeryshire, at New Church Street, Newtown, Montgomeryshire, Wales. With him were his brothers Abraham, married, 27, Weaver, Moses, 20, Woollen Stubber, niece Ann Morris, 7, Scholar, nephew George Morris, 3, Scholar, and nephew John Morris, 3, Scholar. All the children were reportedly born in Newtown, Montgomeryshire.

Migrated from Wales, per 'Silhet' arr 19/09/1883. . B'berg. and was a hotelier / house painter and Council Alderman. Also a very good singer, in choirs and a concert singer.
