John is described as being an Ag(ricultural) Lab(ourer) and of being born in the same county as the Census (Merionethshire). Mary was not born in the same county (she was born in Cardiganshire). Jane was born in the same county as were her siblings John 6, Owen 3, Lewis 1, Ann(e) 11, Susan(nah) 8, and Ellinor 5.

      From the 1851 Census (HO107 Piece 2495 Folio 223 Page 9) there was a Jane Williams, 21, working as a House Servant at Tanybryn, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. She was working for William Lloyd, 43, a Timber Agent from Machynlleth, and his wife Ann, 36, from Llanbadarnfawr. The couple had a son, Edward, 2, born in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. William Cox, 39, a Bookseller from Aberystwyth, was visiting the abode and there were three lodgers; James Cox, 30, Principal Coast (Customs) Officer from Aberystwyth, George Childe, widower, 61, Clergyman without cure of souls, from H. K. Stafford, and Mary Ann Childe, 30, Clergyman's Daughter, from Norfield, Shropshire.

      From the 1861 Census (RG9 Piece 4240 Folio 53 Page 9) Jane, 31, was living with her husband David, 33, a Miner in a Copper Mine, in Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them were their children David, 5, a Scholar, Mary Anne, 4, a Scholar, and John William, 2.

      From the 1871 Census (RG10 Piece 5602 Folio 34 Page 27) Jane, 41, was living with her husband David, 44, a Miner, in Chapel Square, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them were their children Mary Ann, 14, a Scholar, John (William), 12, a Mariner, Lisa Jane, 9, a Scholar and Elizabeth, 7, also a Scholar. Lodging with them were niece Mary Ann Williams, 4, niece Elizabeth Williams, 3, and nephew William Morris Williams, 8 months.
