  • Notes
    • Living at Welton or Weston Cottages in Egham Lane, Egham at 1901 census.

At 1911 Census, living at 2 Maple Cottages South Avenue, Thorpe Lea, Egham (county given as Berkshire, not Surrey). Amy and Charles Filling have Percival Hibberd (aged 21 - described at the 1901 census as the adopted son of Henry Oliver Judd) living with them. Percival?s occupation is given as ?greengrocer? like Amy?s husband, Charles so presumably they were working together. Also living with Amy is Wiliam Charles Spowers, Amy?s nephew aged 10 and the son of her sister, Rose, who is now living in Birmingham as the wife of William Hewitson.

Death from cardiac failure, (something I can?t read) and tabes dorsalis (Tabes dorsalis is a slow degeneration of the nerve cells and nerve fibers that carry sensory information to the brain. The degenerating nerves are in the dorsal columns of the spinal cord (the portion closest to the back of the body) and carry information that help maintain a person's sense of position. Tabes dorsalis is the result of an untreated syphilis infection. Symptoms may not appear for some decades after the initial infection and include weakness, diminished reflexes, unsteady gait, progressive degeneration of the joints, loss of coordination, episodes of intense pain and disturbed sensation, personality changes, dementia, deafness, visual impairment, and impaired response to light. The disease is more frequent in males than in females. Onset is commonly during mid-life.
