Mary Jane had been put in the wrong box - she is a further generation down the tree! I believe she is the daughter of Jane Evans.
From the 1881 Census (RG11 Piece 5479 Folio 85 Page 16) Mary Jane, 5, was a Scholar staying with her grandmother Anne, 53, a General Labourers Wife, at Wern, Tirymyneich, Machynlleth, Montgomeryshire. Also present was her uncle Samuel, 16, a Blacksmith.
From the 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 4587 Folio 46 Page 6) Mary J. Evans, 16, General Servant from Llanbrynmair, Montgomeryshire was with her uncle John, 30, a Tailor and Draper from Llanbrynmair, Montgomeryshire, and aunt Mary (Williams), 28, at 11 New Street, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. Their children, Elizabeth, Annie, John O(wen) and Mary are living with them. They have an Apprentice Tailor, 16 year old Henry R(obert) Shortland from London. Henry went on to marry John's sister-in-law, Susannah Williams.
