      Hi Phil,

Thanks for getting back in touch. We don't know much about Frederick, this is all just from trying to put bits of a jigsaw puzzle together.

My friend has been relying on information from her aunts, the children of Clement Hirons, born 1922 to Frederick Hirons and Annie Yates (She has the birth certificate). Her aunts told her that Frederick and Annie never married as they were already married to other people. They also remembered having cousins in Hull with the surname Capell. So we did a bit of digging and found the following.

      Family 1

Ernest CAPELL married Annie YATES in 1901 Rugby. They have had the following children

      1. John Thomas CAPELL 1904 Rugby. He died 1904 Rugby

      2. Thomas John CAPELL 1905 Rugby. He died 1909 Rugby

      3. Madeline CAPELL 1907 Rugby

      4. Margaret Ellen CAPELL 1909 Rugby

      5. William Bernard CAPELL 1913 Rugby. He died 1994 HULL!!

      6. Herbert Henry CAPELL 1915 Rugby

      Family 2

Frederick HIRONS married Clara Ellen GARRATT 1912 in Rugby. They had the following children

      1. Clementina HIRONS 1913 Rugby

      2. Thomas E HIRONS 1914 Rugby

      Family 3

Frederick HIRONS and Annie YATES (didnt marry) had the following children

      1. Clementine C HIRONS 1919 Sculcoates.

Looks like she died in 1920, Sculcoates, under the name of Clementine CAPELL . There is no record of a Clementine CAPELL being born ANYWHERE in England EVER. Was Annie YATES pregnant with Clementine when she met Frederick HIRONS, but they registered her birth with Frederick as dad, when actually her dad was Ernest CAPELL?

      2. Clement Arthur HIRONS 1921 Sculcoates

      3. Frank HIRONS 1922 Sculcoates

      4. Catherine G HIRONS 1924 Hull, she died 1924 Hull.

There is a death of a Frederick Hirons in Hull in 1929 who was born about 1891. We think this is the Frederick that was with Annie Yates/ Capell as her aunts remember she moved back to Rugby and was still there in 1950. According to them she got married again, but they cannot remember who to ( But did she get married again or just live with someone like she did with Frederick ?) I don't have access to the 1939 at home, but not sure what name she would be under in 1939...Capell, Yates, Hirons, or her new "husbands" name. Do not know if she was still in Hull area at the time or Rugby.

The reason I got in touch with you was that we have tried to rule out other Frederick Hirons born about the same time and your Frederick is only one that really matches. Also the fact that he had a Clementina, and my friends Frederick had a Clementine, followed by a Clement after Clementine died.

Not sure how we would go about proving or disproving any of this though. I checked out the Frederick J Hirons you mentioned that died in Leicester but got links to a Frederick John Hirons that was living in the area and married in 1911 census.

Hope all this makes sense, just ask if you have any questions.

      Susan
