{"id":50,"date":"2010-09-30T11:18:55","date_gmt":"2010-09-30T10:18:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w-f-t.co.uk\/wblog\/?p=50"},"modified":"2010-09-30T11:18:55","modified_gmt":"2010-09-30T10:18:55","slug":"taking-time-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/williamsfamilytree.co.uk\/pw\/taking-time-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Taking time off &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi folks,<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/w-f-t.co.uk\/index.php\">Williams Family Tree<\/a> has just been updated and now contains 55,987 individuals.<\/p>\n<p>I aim to take a little time off from the research and update side of things for a while and spend more time on the new website I have planned.<\/p>\n<p>There is still a lot of work to do on the database updating side of things but I&#8217;m afraid it&#8217;s going to have to wait until the new site is ready. The old site is getting slower and slower as we rapidly approach the 60,000 mark! The new site promises to be a lot faster with a lot more facilities! Registered members will be able to update the site themselves and non-registered folk will be able to offer suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>For the technophobes: I am patiently waiting for Drupal 7 to be launched as I propose to build the new site around that. The Williams Family Tree will be powered by TNG and will take the script-writing burden off me. I just have to find a way to knit everything together!!
