Although William appears to be married in the 1861 and 1871 Census Returns, I have, so far, not found a wife for him!
There is a remote possibility: WIlliam Benjamin HOGGETT married Mary Ann Howlet DRAKE on 21 SEP 1859 at St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England - according to the IGI.
If Mary Ann was his wife she ended up in the Yarmouth District Workhouse in the 1891 (RG12 Piece 1503 Folio 132 Page 13) and 1901 (RG13 Piece 1813 Folio 101 Page 14). In 1891 she was a widow age 61 from Yarmouth, Norfolk and in 1901 she was a Charwoman age 70 from Great Yarmouth.
If she was a widow in 1891 she was not the correct lady!
