  • Notes
    • From my original source:
?i?In the 1871 census Nettie (Jeanette) is 8 and Ezra is 7. So they are one year apart. In the 1881 census, Nettie is 18 and Ezra 17. In the 1901 census, Nettie's date of birth is listed as May 24, 1864.

      ?/i?From J Seaborn:
?b?Brother and Sister Die Within a Few Minutes of Each Other Thursday?/b?
The two last remaining members of the family of the late David Davey died within a few minutes of each other, early Thursday morning. They were Mrs. L.T. Ferriss and Ezra Davey. The Death of Mrs. Ferriss was unexpected and was the result of a heart attack. On the other hand, Mr. Davey had been ill for some time.
At the time of going to press funeral arrangements had not been completed.

      ?b?Mrs. L.T. Ferriss Dies?/b?
Residents of Harrow were greatly shocked and saddened on Thursday morning when it was learned that Mrs. L.T. Ferriss had passed away during the night. She suffered a heart attack at one in the morning, from which she never recovered.

Mrs. Ferriss, who was 76 years, five months of age, was born in Colchester South, the daughter of the late David Davey, a prominent stone mason and builder of this district. She was the wife of Mr. L.T. Ferriss, well-known hardware merchant of Harrow.

Besides her husband, mentioned above, she is survived by her daughter Pearl, Mrs. E.S. Townsend of Leamington and three sons, David and Alger of Harrow and Orville of Detroit.

For the past few years, Mrs. Ferriss has been in failing health and has not been able to take the active part in church and community affairs which she has done in former years. She was a member of the Harrow United Church and belonged to the church societies. Before her illness she was active in the Harrow Chapter I.O.D.E. (Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire, community service organization) and the Harrow Branch of the Women's Institute.

      ?b?Funeral of Mrs. L.T. Ferriss ?/b?
Rev. G.W. Butt presided at the funeral services for the late Mrs. L.T. Ferriss which were held at the family home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The respect and love which the late Mrs. Ferriss was held in this community was evidenced by the large number in attendance. During the service Miss Rose Panabaker sang. She was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Milo Walton. The pallbearers were Fred Davey of Detroit, Chelsea Davey, Philip Ferriss, Carl Ferriss, Gerald Ferriss and Bernard Townsend (four nephews and two grandsons of the deceased). Interment took place in Erie Cemetery at Colchester.
