From the 1901 Census (RG13 Piece 5190 Folio 36 Page 14) John P, 37, Builder, was with his wife Tryphena, 37, at Plas Dovey, Aberdovey, Merionethshire, Wales. With them were their daughters Kattie M, 14, Lizzie T, 13, and Buddyg G, 1, and 'mother' Cathrine Jones, widow, 71, Living on own means. John was born in Towyn, Merionethshire, the rest of the family in Aberdovey, Merionethshire. Also present was servant Sarah Spoonley, 19, Domestic Servant from Aberdovey, Merionethshire.
His headstone is in Aberdyfi cemetery. He shares the inscription with his daughter Phena. The stone has information on three sides.
The date of birth is given as March 29, 1865 but I think this is a slip of the chisel as I believe the year to be 1864. This would tie up with the recorded age of death as being 77 and the birth registration and the information from IGI.
