- From the 1891 Census (RG12 Piece 2259 Folio 121 Page 10) Marion, 14, Clerk, was with her grandmother Elizabeth, widow, 74, from Chew Magna, Somerset, at 133 Booth Street, Handsworth, Staffordshire, England. With her were her mother Thursa (sic) Thomas, 39, Metal Lacquerer, and uncles Matthew, 43, Night Inspector Port, and John W., 26, Clerk. All the children were reportedly born in Handsworth, Staffordshire.

1881 census, mother Theresa Thomas listed as a wife, but Basil Thomas is not there, 133 Booth street with widowed mother Elizabeth. as a lacquerer. Daughter Marion E.S.G. thomas also there aged 4.
