With him were his siblings Thomas, 5, Scholar, Elizabeth, 3, Frederick, 9 months, and aunt Mary Ann, 19, General Servant from Canning Town, Essex. All the children were reportedly born in Canning Town, Essex.
From the 1891 England Census (RG12 Piece 1319 Folio 10 Page 19) Alfred, 18, Gas Labourer born Canning Town, Essex, was with his aunt Sarah Pigram, widow, 55, from Rickling, Essex, at 7 Catherine Street, West Ham, Essex, England. With him was his cousin William Pigram, 27, Gas Labourer born Canning Town, Essex. Visiting them was Elizabeth Porter, 22, from Bashing, Essex. Logding with them was William Wiggins, 23, Seaman from Ireland.
