The marriage of Mr. Alfred Slater, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. James Slater, Sarsfield Hurstville, and Essie M. C. Cox, eldest daughter of Mrs. E. C. Cox, Clevedon, Rockdale, was solemnised at St. George's , Church, Hurstville on Wednesday, September 6, by the Rev Mr. Dixon-Hudson. The church was prettily decorated with white flowers by friends of the bride. The bride wore Ivory charmeuse with pearl trimmings, a wreath of orange blossom and long tulle veil. Her bouquet and gold watch bangle were the gifts of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss Blanche Cox (sister of the bride), and Miss Nellie Slater (sister of thc bridegroom). Little Miss Estelle Slater was train-bearer. Mr. Lubin Slater was best man, and Mr. Allan Swan groomsman. During thc signing of the register Miss Stella Cox sang "Through Light to Love." After the ceremony Mrs. Cox held a reception, where the newly-married couple received the congratulations of their friends. Later Mr. and Mrs. A. Slater left by motor for Kiama.
