Death of an Antiquary
"Mr. Frederick Arthur Crisp, of The Manor House, Godalming, died at his residence on Tuesday, after a long illness. He was in his 71st year. Mr Crisp took a deep interest in the collection of old china and in genealogy. In the latter connexion he collaborated with Dr J. J. Howard, LL.D., in the publication of the "Visitation of England and Wales" comprising 20 volumes, which were printed by his own private press. He was a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries. In 1880 he married the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John South, of Stutton, Suffolk. There were six daughters born to the marriage. In 1905 he went to reside at Godalming, and subsequently bought the manors of Godalming and Haslemere."
