| Text | Hi Phil, Congratulations on a super family history resource. I noticed you have my G. grandfather James F. & his immediate family in your tree. I am the grandson of John F. If you would like some information about JFs ancestors I can go back another 3 generations. I also noticed a few other Forward's in your records, have you linked them to James F? Thank you for details of Sarah Hann's parents Happy hunting Roy Forward Hi Phil, You are correct Alice F was the mother of James F. John Lush was the father according to the marriage cert for James & Sarah. I haven't seen any evidence for a marriage between Alice & John L. In a later census Alice is living with James & described as his aunt. Alice had another child Sarah Baptised 15/2/1811 buried 30/4/1832. Alice bn 2/12/1779 the eldest child of William F bn ? Buried 29/6/1807. He married Susanna Lush 7/7/1778 I think at West Orchard, not sure when she was born. Buried 8/1/1793. They had six other children. Mary bapt. 2/1/1782 Maria bapt. 25/11/1783 James bapt. 10/4/1785 Susanna bapt. 13/4/1789 Elizabeth bapt. 19/6/1791 buried 17/2/1793 Lucy bapt. 21/9/1792 buried 24/9/1792 William was the eldest son of John F who married married Mary West at Compton Abbas on 11/4/1737. He died in 1780 & is buried at Tarrant Gunville. I do not know where he was born. I have seen two different fathers for him on the web but I have not pursued them. There were husband & wife burials at Compton Abbas in 1726 for a William & Margaret F which may have been John's parents. I will send you details of William Fs siblings later. My father's cousin Alfred, son of Thomas F my grandfathers brother, did some family research, I believe in the 1950s, which involved correspondence with Lambeth Palace regarding Thomas F vicar of Lydlinch. I do not believe he took a flyer on a possible connection as his daughter wrote to my aunts & mentioned a bible. When I wrote to her many years later she said it was a bible box!!! She is no longer with us. I have researched the vicar of Lydlinch & some of his descendants but have been unable to find a link. I haven't done any research for years but hope to start again. Do you have any ideas on your family connection with the Forward family? I would be grateful for any information on your family as we are trying to uncover a link between the Williams's and the Forwards. This work is mainly being carried out by my cousin and, as yet, I haven't delved too backwards into the history of the Forward family. :-) A quick search leads me to believe that Jame's mother was named Alice Forward and she married a John Lush. Richard, married Sarah Muston 10/4/1769 John, married Martha Monkton 10/1/1769 Thomas, bn 22/7/1745, married Mary -----, died 16/7/1818 Mary, bn 11/4/1747, married William Morris, 20/11/1773 Phillip, died1807, married Mary Martin 21/10/1779 at Chapel of Holt, Wimborne married Mary Green 18/11/1790 James bn 23/11/1752 Joseph, bn 20/6/1754, died 17/5/1825 at Millbrook, Southampton.
