I have received an email inviting me to have a browse around the beta version of the 1911 census database. Unfortunately, I can’t pass on the link to the site as that would contravene the Terms and Conditions – some of which are listed here:-
- You will not use this beta site except for your personal research
- You will not publish, distribute or otherwise make publicly available search results, Transcripts or images of Original Forms
- You will not publish, distribute or otherwise make publicly available any screenshots of the service
- You will not publish, distribute or otherwise make publicly available the web address of the BETA website
Please note:
- Registration and searching is free, but you will need to pay for Transcripts & Original Pages
- The site is not yet fully functional – some features may not work
- Not all records are available and we may withdraw any or all of them at any time
- During the beta period, we may withdraw the service at any time without notice
- The beta period will end on December 22nd but unused credits may be used on the site when it goes live or on findmypast.com
 Prices:
£6.95 – 60 credits – £0.12 per credit expire 20 March 2009
£24.95 – 280 credits – £0.09 per credit expire 20 December 2009
£49.95 – 600 credits – £0.08 per credit expire 20 December 2009
Transcripts cost you 10 credits and views of the original pages will cost you 30 credits. So £6.95 will get you 2 pages! As expected – a rip-off!
Oh, and there’s only a spattering of counties included at the moment so if you expect to find anyone from Wales forget it!
