Hi, I googled Shearing Family in Norfolk and up you popped. My Shearing family were living in York in the mid 1800s with Robert Shearing (x3 gt Gfather)being born in Wreningham, Norfolk in 1812. His father was Valentine Shearing born 1777, (married to Elizabeth Ringwood), his father was Valentine Shearing born 1746 married to Frances Scillet (Fanny), his father was John Shearing born 1721 married to Elizabeth Pitcher. His father was I believe James Shearing born in 1700 but I have not validated this. All came from Norfolk, mainly Wreningham, Docking, Ashwellthorpe, and Hethel. The Pitcher line goes back a few centuries and I noticed you have a Pitcher married to a Shearing and I am trying to see if they are connected to my Pitchers and Shearings. I don't know why my ancestor left Norfolk or if any of the family left with him. He married in York.

Hi Janet,
Sorry for the delay in responding. Life gets in the way sometimes!

Thank you for your detailed information about your Shearer ancestors. When I get a chance I will take a look to see if any of your Shearers are connected to ours. If I do find anything I will let you know.

Best wishes and stay safe,

Phil.

P.S. I tried emailing you but my message got bounced. Please get in touch.
