Hi, I'm tracing my grandmother, Jessie Prattley. I think John's father was Jonathan Pratley b. Leafield d. Hailey (both Oxfordshire) 1864. And his mother was Amelia Wilks b. 1789 d. 1836. Married 2nd November 1811 at Shipton-under-Wychwood. Jonathan married again in 1836 to Mary Stiles and had a son, William, in 1841. The fact that John had a daughter called Amelia is presumably a tribute to his mother. Let me know if you think this is wrong and good luck to you.

The Pratley family are linked to the Simmonds and Boots family. The latter belonging to my "Uncle Bill" (William Howard).
