I don't know if I am in the right place but I have just received copy of birth certificate for my father. We knew him as Leslie Wadcock, but apparently he was born Leslie Moss. Father John Henry Moss and mother Mary Alice moss ( nee Ogden), The area is Oldham Lancs UK and apparently is listed on the Williams Family Tree. Are we related - and if so what can you tell me. Thanks for your time Sheila Kearns

Hi Sheila,
The relationship to Mary Alice Ogden is via my great aunt Elizabeth Jones. Or rather, her husband Richard Backhouse Satterthwaite. Even then there are Cowards, Townleys, Hayhursts, and Cartwrights before getting to Ogdens.
Your father's birth was registered as Leslie Moss, but in the 1921 Census he is with his adoptive parents Robert Charles and Clara Wadcock. Clara's maiden surname was Ogden but where she fits in I have yet to find out.
Email me (phil@williamsfamilytree.co.uk) if you would like me to examine this in greater details.
Cheers,
Phil.
