Delighted to find your site. It seems my husband John is descended from the brother of Catherine Williams, William Wallace Williams. We're interested to discover how William Williams who married Mary Ann Evans fits with those great seafarers.

From what little I have gathered so far, your husband is more closely related to my wife's family - William Wallace Williams was my wife's great-granduncle's wife's 2nd cousin once removed's wife's uncle!
It is thought that Mary Ann Evans was a convict, but what her crime may have been we don't exactly know. There were a number of Mary (Ann) Evans' transported to Australia so which one, if any, was our Mary we may never know.
I would love to hear more about your husband's ancestors and am happy to add them into The Williams Family Tree.
