Dear Williams family,
Your website and the extensive work it contains is an inspiration.
I have just been given a month's use of Ancestry.co.uk by my daughters, so I at the earliest stage of this journey. My late mother was Lily Loftus, daughter of Ely and Gertie Loftus who employed Annie Brown as one of four servants in their home in Albert Road in Southampton. This has come as a great surprise to me as I had assumed Ely was poor immigrant, and was obviously doing very well by 1911. My grandfather's family did well in England, for example his brother Michel's family founding Accurist watches.

I have a photo of my grandparents shop which, from appearances seems to be taken roughly around the time Annie Brown was living there, and it shows my grandfather, his brother, and three young women, one of whom could possibly be Annie (plus a passing policeman who thought he'd also pose for the photo). I assume the photo was taken in Albert Road, where I am assuming they lived over the shop. I understand that the building is now a Threshers Wine shop. I would be more than happy to send you a copy.

Best regards,

Laurence Trackman
